Also: requests.

Hey, if the handful of you that actually read this blog have any requests, be they for albums, artists, or themed posts, just comment me and I'll do my best to fill them. I just want to share as much music as I can with as many people as possible.

Thursday: John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Nurse With Wound, Björk

John Lennon & Yoko Ono - "Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins" (Apple, 1968)
http://www.mediafire.com/?yctdbdodx3g

The first noise album by a pop artist. Suck on that, Lou Reed. It's really good, though, and much more significant than most make it out to be. People focus on the artwork and how big of a deal John's cock was when the record came out but they seem to forget that this is what led to them having sex for the first time. The whole thing is so playful, so flirtatious... And, again, it's the first noise album by a pop artist, beating Lou Reed by 7 years. Most people give this record a bad review, but they're all stuck-up Beatles fans who know absolutely nothing about noise and just dismiss it as another one of Yoko's supposed "corruptions" of John's artistic self. Check it out; seriously. It's pretty damn amazing.

Nurse With Wound - "Thunder Perfect Mind" (1992, United Diaries)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QEHBLQCA

Nurse With Wound on top of their game. Definitely the seminal NWW album, though I think most would give that honour to Homotopie for Marie. Okay, I guess they're right. This one still rules, though. Devoid of the more beat-driven mid-to-late-90's stuff, this is pure, terrifying Stapleton soundscapes. I'll do a NWW-centric entry sometime this week.

Björk - "Medúlla" (2004, Atlantic)

Björk, Mike Patton, and Rahzel. That is all.
